Breast Imaging

Breast Imaging / Mammography are performed to assess a variety of breast conditions including breast masses and lumps. We perform a full range of breast imaging from initial assessment through to high-risk screening. Many breast conditions can be accurately assessed with imaging alone however some may require a biopsy. All imaging is performed and reported by a Consultant Breast Radiologist who can discuss it with you and give advice on further management.

LCL implant assessment is performed at our regular breast clinics.

Insurance cover: Direct billing for mammography and ultrasound is available when a biopsy is performed.  If your insurance provider does not directly cover the cost, the expenses can be claimed back depending on your insurance policy at the end of the year.

Direct payment: A bilateral mammogram costs 180 euro and a breast ultrasound costs 190 euro.  A combined mammogram and breast ultrasound costs 350 euro.

Appointments: Most breast imaging appointments can be facilitated within 2-3 days of referral. Urgent requests can be performed on the same day. A referral letter from your doctor is required when the scan is booked.
