St James's Hospital is located on James's St in Dublin 8, 2km from Trinity College. Imaging is done in two sites within the Hospital Campus, in the main hospital building and in the private clinic.
St James's Hospital Main Campus Imaging Centre
Outpatient CT, MRI, PET-CT, HyCosy, Nuclear Medicine, Bariums or any procedure are done in our private office in the Main St. James Hospital Campus. Please check in at the Radiology Private Office which is in the Main St. James’s Hospital Building. Follow route 1 when you arrive at the main entrance to the Hospital as far as the x-ray Reception area, then follow the black line on the floor (which starts at Reception) to our office door.
St James's Hospital Private Clinic Imaging Centre
We are delighted to announce the relocation of the St James’s Private Clinic outpatient imaging centre at the Rialto Gate to the new St James’s Hospital Private Clinic in Hospital 2. The new state of the art facility will continue to provide the highest quality outpatient imaging including Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammography, Multislice-CT, 3T MRI and Dexa scans to our GP colleagues. Direct access to our joint injection clinic, triple assessment breast clinic and women’s imaging services will also be available in the new site. The new location adjacent to the St James’s Luas stop makes public transport particularly convenient. In addition, patients will have access to dedicated private clinic parking spaces adjacent to Hospital 2.
By Car: Please enter the hospital by the James's St entrance. If you are having an Outpatient CT, MRI, PET-CT, HyCosy, Nuclear Medicine, Bariums or any procedure please follow the signs for the main hospital and park in the underground carpark. If you are having an Outpatient Ultrasound, X-ray, Mammograms or Dexa scan please park in the Private Clinic car park behind Hospital 2 (adjacent to St James Street Luas stop).
By Bus: The Dublin bus route 123 passes through the hospital grounds and stops near the main hospital entrance. Bus route 40 and 13 stop at the James’s Street entrance and bus route 68 stops on the South Circular Road close to the Rialto Gate entrance. For more information see www.dublinbus.ie
By Luas / Train: The Red Line Luas between Tallaght and Connolly Station has three stops adjacent to the hospital. Please alight at the James’s Street stop. This line also serves Heuston and Connolly Stations. For more information visit www.luas.ie
By DublinBikes: There is a Dublinbikes station adjacent beside the main entrance of the hospital and at the Rialto gate www.dublinbikes.ie . There are also numerous secure bicycle parking areas on site.
By Foot: The hospital is location on James's Street and is approximately a 20 minute walk from Trinity College.
